Faculty > Cecilia Garcia-PeñalosaCecilia GARCIA-PEÑALOSA, CNRS, EHESS, AMSE Cecilia Garcia-Peñalosa is Professor of Economics at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique and at the Aix-Marseille School of Economics. Since 2017 she has held the chair on Gender, Growth and Development at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. Cecilia obtained her Ph.D. in economics in 1995 from the University of Oxford and has held positions at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Oxford. She has been associate editor of the European Economic Review, and is currently a council member of the Society for the Study of Economic Inequality and associate editor of the Journal of Economic Inequality, as well as Research Fellow at CEPR and CESifo, and consultant at the Banque de France. Cecilia’s research focuses mainly on long-term growth and on income inequality. Her papers have been published in the Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Labour Economics and Journal of Development Economics. She has undertaken policy work for the European Commission, the World Bank, and the Conseil d'Analyse Economique, an independent advisory group that reports to the French Prime Minister, and is currently a member of the European Economy Advisory Group.
